The Buddhist Place of Worship in London.
The very heart of Jamyang London Buddhist Centre, is the Buddhist Temple.
A peaceful meditation temple with high ceilings and an historic atmosphere. The Buddhist temple is used to welcome students wishing to receive teachings from our resident teacher Geshe Namdak, and visiting monastics who come to share the Dharma (Dharma: the teachings of the Buddha)
The Buddhist temple was originally a courtroom (the only one in London now still open to the public) and is a spectacular space. Where the judge once sat, a statue of the Buddha now sits in equipoise; an exquisite statue 9 foot high made by Peter Griffin, and consecrated in 1999 by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
Traditional Buddhist Thangkas (Thangka: meaning art work that is unrolled) adorn the walls of the space and meditation pillows, chairs and blankets are available for visitors.
This is a public room open to everyone.
