About this event
As part of Black History Month, Buddhists Across Traditions have organised a series of events entitled Coming Home. The theme is a reminder that racial healing and justice is part of everyday life. Buddhists Across Traditions have gathered Buddhist and Mindfulness teachers of Afrikan descent from South Africa, UK and USA to honour the contributions of the African diaspora to the culture, wisdom, wealth and development of countries around the world. Each event is unique, with different guests and themes, and will include meditation, talks, prayers, music and opportunities for you to participate.

Is this for me?
Absolutely! All are welcome. This event is for all those who wish to hear from leading Black voices in the global Buddhist community.

What can I expect?
The basis of music in the western world can be traced back to our African ancestors. Music has brought joy, hope, energy, love and passion in liberation from oppression. This evening is an opportunity to come home to ourselves and one another: healing our bodies, minds and spirits, whilst honouring the contributions of our ancestors. This event is the series finale with musicians Samantha Rise (USA) and Melissa James (UK), a fitting tribute to honour the significant musical contributions our Afrikan ancestors have gifted the world. We come together to heal with music, singing, chanting, dancing.
