About the Lunchtime Drop-in Mindfulness Meditation
The guided meditation drop-in sessions are secular and have been created so that like-minded people can meet, meditate and learn to meditate together. The sessions are approximately an hour long and contain a blend of different guided meditations. You are always free to leave early so there is no obligation to stay the full hour.
Is this for me?
If you have ever experienced unpleasant or uncomfortable emotions of any kind, from anger and frustration to disappointment and stress, these practices will be helpful. In meditation practice, all who practice are invited to consider themselves as beginners. We are all therefore equal and the sessions are open to those who have never practised before as much as experienced practitioners.
What can I expect?
Practical and useful practices that you will implement into your daily lives. These practices are meant to be as practical as possible so as to enable you to live a more joyful, peaceful, happy and fulfilling life. During these guided meditations we’ll use various tools including mindfulness techniques, visualisations and words we may contemplate on.
About the Teacher
Vinod is facilitating the ‘Lunchtime Drop-in Mindfulness Meditation’ at Jamyang London Buddhist Centre for a long time. He went through the same Vipassana (the Pali word for Mindfulness) training that a Thai monk would receive in 1994. He trained at the Wat Ram Poeng monastery in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Vinod also underwent the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Teacher Training from Bangor University and facilitates the MBSR 8 Week Course at Jamyang London. He went on to work in the corporate world as a lawyer before joining various non-profit organisations dealing with a wide range of issues ranging from gender, sexual, migrant and refugee rights to animal welfare and harm reduction for drug users. What will I need?
A quiet space with a little privacy during the practice can be helpful.
‘Lunchtime Drop-in Mindfulness Meditation’ is offered by Jamyang London Buddhist Centre and Mindfulness Zone.
- Please register for the session a little earlier so that you give yourself enough time to receive the Zoom link that will lead you into our little virtual meditation room on the day
- No charges need to be imposed.
- After registering, you will receive a confirmation email from Mindfulness Zone containing all the information about joining the meeting.
