No-one will be turned away due the lack of funds. Dharma teachings run on a 'Generosity model', completely on voluntary donations. By donating you will help create the conditions for the teachings to be available, the meals to be served, accommodations to be clean, for the doors to be open and the lights on. Therefore people of any faith or background are welcome.
/ABOUT THE COURSE
"Managing the Ego" A "Come prepared to be challenged!" Workshop
This course is suitable for all:
There will be some teaching, discussion, meditations and group work. Buddhist teachings are rich in observations and ideas around the ego but there will be an opportunity to consider other ways of understanding these profound psychological concepts and exploring our own experience and views.
/ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Ondy has been a Dharma practitioner since 1979, and established Yeshe Buddhist Group (YBG) in 2001, where she still teaches regularly. She has served as a FPMT Touring Teacher since 2007, and has taught introductory and intermediate courses at Tushita Meditation Centre in Dharamsala and Root Institute in Bodhgaya, to name but a few. Having developed a Mindfulness Based Mind Training Programme that encapsulates Buddhist Psychology in a secular framework, she has much experience of delivering teaching and training to professional public sector and private organisations, as well as in Dharma settings.
Originally trained as an English & Drama teacher, then moving into Religious Studies and Personal, Social and Health Education, her last teaching post was as Head of Belief, Philosophy and Ethics in a large comprehensive school, contributing to primary and secondary school educational books on moral issues. She specialises in making the teachings accessible and relevant to contemporary life and says that she still has plenty of Drama (and Dharma) left in her.
