Universal Responsibility and the Climate Crisis

Universal Responsibility and the Climate Crisis
with Venerable Geshe Lhakdor

SUN 13 OCT | 18:00 - 19:00
Free Event

It’s quite right that students and today's younger generation should have serious concerns about the climate crisis and its effect on the environment. They are being very realistic about the future. They see we need to listen to scientists. We should encourage them.

-His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama

We are pleased to present a talk by the scholar and former translator of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Venerable Geshe Lhakdor will elaborate on the theme: Universal Responsibility and the Climate Crisis. This event is part of a series of events connected to the Environment happening in conjunction with the two-week XR October Rebellion planned in London and around the world.

With his experience as director of Library of Tibetan Works and Archives (which supports the Science for Monks program), as former translator to His Holiness the Dalai Lama and as trustee of the Foundation for Universal Responsibility, established by the Dalai Lama, Geshe Lhakdor has much to share to help us better understand the Buddhist concept of universal responsibility and how it relates to the Climate Crisis.
