Geshe Tashi continues his reading of the Middle Way section of Lama Tsongkhapa’s Essence of Eloquence text which looks at the insight and understanding of various Middle Way masters of Indian Buddhism.

The text is not an easy read but it is worthwhile persevering as we gain more and more understanding of this key teaching in Buddhism.

How do we emotionally and intellectually avoid the extremes of all or nothing - of behaving as if experiences are coming at us rather than knowing that our experiences are fundamentally framed by our own minds and our own history?

In this summer programme Geshe Tashi will start to read the part of the text dealing with what the consequentialist (Prasangika) school say about the nature of reality and bring out Lama Tsongkhapa’s unique understanding of their insights and ideas.

The text is tough and the discussion very subtle but Geshe la is very skilful in bringing out the meaning and in giving us something to work with in each session.

Jamyang will offer lunch free of charge. All donations for this delicious food, prepared and cooked in our Cafe, will be gratefully received and go to support the delivery of our Buddhist programme.
