The Story of Lama Yeshe

The Story of Lama Yeshe
with Venerable Barbara Shannon

TUE | 19:00 - 20:30 | 11 December

Donations welcome

Come along and find out about Lama Thubten Yeshe the co founder of the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition(FPMT).  The life of this charismatic lama was extraordinary from his early life as a slightly naughty young monk in Sera Jey monastery, to his flight from the Chinese communists into a tough early exile in India, to his first encounters with Hippy and Yippy Europeans, Americans and Australians, to the eventual founding of the FPMT.

His example still inspires people today.

This first in a series of occasional evenings (one every programme) will be a mixture of watching, listening, reading, discussion, sharing and rejoicing. These evenings will be hosted by students of Lama Thubten Yeshe.

Dharma teachings run on a 'Generosity model', completely on voluntary donations. By donating you will help create the conditions for the teachings to be available, the meals to be served, accommodations to be clean, for the doors to be open and the lights on. Therefore people of any faith or background are welcome.

Suitable for getting started with Buddhist study and for those who want to refresh their understanding.

Booking is not mandatory but highly recommended it because Jamyang can give you a better service
