Awareness and Cognition

COURSE with Geshe Tenzin Namdak

TUES | 10 SEPTEMBER – 22  OCTOBER | 19:00 - 20:30
            (NOT 17-24 SEPTEMBER, 8 OCTOBER)

How do we perceive the world and how does our mind shape those perceptions into an understanding of what we perceive? What "reality" do we perceive?

Geshe Namdak will explain how Buddhist Psychology has developed its understanding of these processes and how it relates to experiencing suffering, happiness and mental development.

This course will have three evening sessions of teachings and one final evening session with Q&A, group discussions and meditation.

Geshe Tenzin Namdak was given full ordination by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and is our new resident teacher.  He recently gained his Geshe degree, the equivalent of a doctorate of philosophy in our education system. A Dutch citizen, he teaches in English and is well known for his warm, gentle, inclusive style.

All welcome. Suggested donation £10 each evening.

Students will benefit from having attended Geshe Namdak's course "An Introduction to Buddhist Philosophy & Psychology" given earlier in 2019. If you did not attend this, ask us for a reading list.

No-one will be turned away due to lack of funds

Dharma teachings run on a 'Generosity model', based on voluntary donations. By donating you will help create the conditions for the teachings to be available, meals to be served, accommodation to be clean, for the doors to be open and the lights on. Therefore people of any faith or background are welcome.

Booking is not mandatory but highly recommended  because Jamyang can give you a better service.
