Buddhism in a Nutshell
WEEKEND COURSE with Jane Sill
SAT | 10:00 - 17:00 | 19 JAN
Buddhism in a Nutshell is a well designed FPMT Introductory course designed to give people a broad understanding of Buddhist history and to give a flavour of the key transformational practices in Tibetan Buddhism as presented in the Tibetan Buddhist Geluk tradition, that our FPMT tradition comes out of. Learn about Refuge, Karma, loving kindness and universal altruism, and the liberating wisdom at the heart of Buddhism. The evenings are a mixture of talks, discussion, reflection and meditation. Participants are introduced to a short summary text setting out the practices necessary to become fully enlightened for the sake of all.
Suggested donation £30(does not include lunch)
No-one will be turned away due the lack of funds
Dharma teachings run on a 'Generosity model', completely on voluntary donations. By donating you will help create the conditions for the teachings to be available, the meals to be served, accommodations to be clean, for the doors to be open and the lights on. Therefore people of any faith or background are welcome.
Suitable for getting started with Buddhist study and for those who want to refresh their understanding.
Booking is not mandatory but highly recommended it because Jamyang can give you a better service
