Jamyang Autumn Walk
with Robin Bath
SUN 27 OCT
After the stunning scenery of the last walk in June it seems a good idea to return to the beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside in autumn to try what is described as one of the great walks of the Chilterns.
From the pretty village of Wendover there is a steady climb to the summit of Coombe Hill the highest and one of the most magnificent viewpoints in the Chiltern range. The route then drops to the Village of Ellesborough with its imposing medieval church and continues following an undulating route, punctuated by delightful woodland and passes Chequers, the Prime Minister’s country residence, before the final descent back to Wendover.
Meet at Marylebone station ticket office at 9.40 am so we have a little time to get group reductions all together for the fare.
Train departs at 9.57 am. If you have a zone 6 or a Senior Rail card this will be useful.
Sorry this is a little early, but the following train is an hour later and best that we get to the start before
mid day as it is an 8 mile walk and the plan is to catch a train around 4 pm for the return.
Do check for the weather.
Bring a pack lunch and decent foot ware.
