Lesnes Abbey and Woods is a virtually undiscovered gem in South East London. The Abbey was built in 1178, now in ruins, is a scheduled ancient monument standing in beautiful grounds adjacent to the Abbey Woods Nature Reserve.
From here we follow a Green Link chain of open spaces and woodlands including Bostall Woods where the famous highwayman  Dick Turpin reputedly had a hideaway in a cave.In late March the trees should be coming in to leaf and a patchwork of wild flowers will brighten this delightful undulating 6 mile walk. There’s a café en route, or bring a pack lunch and good foot ware.

All welcome!
