LGBT+ History Month at Jamyang

Join us online to explore the intersections of Buddhist and LGBTQ+ identities. As part of our programming for LGBTQ+ History Month we offer two free hybrid events.

Queerness and Buddhism through the Ages February 5 @ 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm

With Rhonwen Sayer, Erik Jampa (Andersson), Tashi Choedup (They/She), Kunsang Kelden …and more to be announced!
This dialogue between members of the Jamyang community will navigate topics as diverse as gender and sexuality in Tibetan medicine, the links between Queer identity, Buddhism and environmental justice, and the experience of LGBTQIA+ people within traditional Tibetan communities.

Buddhism and Queer Identities: Community Conversation, February 26 @ 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm

This event is for Queer identified or LGBTQ+ identified people who are studying Buddhism, are practicing Buddhists and interested in sharing experiences with others as part of our new affinity group at Jamyang.
In coming together, we hope to provide a space where LGBTQ+ identified people can see themselves reflected in the stories of their fellow students and practitioners, where they can feel affirmed and uplifted, and where they can explore and unpack the nuances of their lived experience in a conducive and supportive setting.
