SUMMARY:Lama Chopa and Tsog Offering (Guru Puja)
DESCRIPTION:Lama Chopa (also known as Guru Puja) is a practice of guru devotion special to the Gelugpa tradition. During this practice\, the lamas of the graduated path lineage beginning with Shakyamuni Buddha himself\, are invoked\, extending to present direct teachers who have shown the path. Practitioners pay homage\, make offerings\, and request each of them to please bless their minds with the same realizations that they themselves have generated. By offering sincere\, heartfelt requests\, students make their minds ripe to receive the full blessings of this precious lineage and quickly actualize the realizations they need to attain enlightenment. If you wish to experience realizations quickly\, the practice of Lama Chopa is indispensable. \nThe benefits of the practice according to Lama Zopa Rinpoche: \nPracticing this Guru Puja\, which is an integration of the three deities\, makes it much easier to achieve enlightenment in a brief life of this degenerated time. Doing this practice every day\, with purification and many infinite skies of merit\, brings the mind closer to the path to enlightenment and closer to enlightenment itself\, and so much closer to freeing all sentient beings from obscurations and suffering and leading them to enlightenment. SUMMARY:Losar Shakyamuni Buddha Puja
DESCRIPTION:Join the Jamyang community for this very special Losar celebration and Shakyamuni Buddha Puja. \n  \nThis practice commemorates the start of the fifteen days of miracles when Guru Shakyamuni Buddha showed miraculous powers to inspire faith in his followers. All fifteen days are merit multiplying days\, when the merit of virtuous actions performed on each of these days is multiplied by 100 million\, according to the vinaya text Treasure of Quotations and Logic. \n  \nWe will be using the abridged Shakyamuni Buddha Puja text. The prayers will be screenshared during the session\, but it’s also possible to download them to your device beforehand. \n  \nHow to Join \nYou are welcome to come to the centre to participate in-person\, or join online via livestream on the Jamyang YouTube channel. You can also join the livestream by returning to this page when the event is due to start. There is no need to register in advance.

DESCRIPTION:About Medicine Buddha Puja \n\nIn Person Only\n\nPujas are rituals in which consecrated offerings – such as food\, water\, light and incense – are made to an enlightened being for the sake of creating conditions for progress on the spiritual path\, as well as removing obstacles. These offerings are made alongside prayer and chanting. \nThe seven Medicine Buddhas\, attainers of bliss\, strongly prayed for the temporal and ultimate happiness of yourself and all sentient beings. They vowed that their prayers would be actualized during these degenerate times when the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha are in decline. As the buddhas’ holy speech is irrevocable\, you can wholly trust in their power to quickly grant blessings to help all sentient beings in these degenerate times\,” Lama Zopa Rinpoche instructs  “If you pray to Guru Medicine Buddha\, you will quickly accomplish all that you wish. Just hearing the holy name of Guru Medicine Buddha and the sound of his mantra closes the door to rebirth in the suffering lower realms.
