SUMMARY:How to Meditate: An Introduction to Mindfulness and Loving-Kindness
DESCRIPTION:About the course\nThis 6-week meditation course brings mindfulness and loving-kindness into one integrated practice of Heartfulness; where the heart meets mindfulness. Suitable for all levels\, including complete beginners\, the techniques taught over these 6-weeks are perfect for helping to bring greater presence of mind and warmth of heart to our busy daily lives. \n  \nWhat to expect\nEach session includes some guided meditation practices and concludes with about 15 minutes to share experiences\, discuss and ask questions. \nThe sessions are all about learning to integrate meditation into our daily lives and includes daily optional exercises to continue with at home\, work and play. \nChairs and meditation cushions will be provided within a tranquil space conducive for meditation. \n  \n\nBook Your Place\n\n \n  \nAbout the teacher\n\n\n  \nVinod has been practicing meditation for over 30 years. In 1994 he was trained in Vipassana at the Wat Ram Poeng monastery in Chiang Mai\, Thailand. Although not a buddhist monk\, he accomplished the same degree of training. A few years later he earned his Mindfulness Teacher Training from Bangor University. \nHe currently facilitates the meditation retreats in Assisi\, Italy and in London. In the earlier part of his career\, he worked in the corporate world as a lawyer before joining various non-profit organisations including; the UNHCR and Amnesty International Secretariat in London. In Amnesty International he helped people dealing with sexual & gender equality\, migrant & refugee rights\, compassionate care for drug addicts and animal welfare. \n  \nSchedule\nThursdays at 18:30 – 20:00\, October 1st to November 5th 2026 \n  \nHow to join\nAttend in-person or join us online via Zoom. If you can\, please register with the appropriate ticket option below\, as this helps us to plan effectively. You can also just show up on the day! \n  \nDonation\nJamyang operates on a generosity model. We suggest a recommended donation of £15 per class\, please choose this option if you can. Suitable for all levels\, including complete beginners\, the techniques taught over these 6-weeks are perfect for helping to bring greater presence of mind and warmth of heart to our busy daily lives. \n  \nWhat to expect\nEach session includes some guided meditation practices and concludes with about 15 minutes to share experiences\, discuss and ask questions. \nThe sessions are all about learning to integrate meditation into our daily lives and includes daily optional exercises to continue with at home\, work and play. \nChairs and meditation cushions will be provided within a tranquil space conducive for meditation. \n  \n\nBook Your Place\n\n \n  \nAbout the teacher\n\n\n  \nVinod has been practicing meditation for over 30 years. In 1994 he was trained in Vipassana at the Wat Ram Poeng monastery in Chiang Mai\, Thailand. Although not a buddhist monk\, he accomplished the same degree of training. A few years later he earned his Mindfulness Teacher Training from Bangor University. \nHe currently facilitates the meditation retreats in Assisi\, Italy and in London. In the earlier part of his career\, he worked in the corporate world as a lawyer before joining various non-profit organisations including; the UNHCR and Amnesty International Secretariat in London. In Amnesty International he helped people dealing with sexual & gender equality\, migrant & refugee rights\, compassionate care for drug addicts and animal welfare. \n  \nSchedule\nThursdays at 18:30 – 20:00\, October 1st to November 5th 2026 \n  \nHow to join\nAttend in-person or join us online via Zoom.
