SUMMARY:Science and Wisdom LIVE - The Origins of Consciousness
DESCRIPTION:About the Event\nGeshe Tenzin Namdak and Annaka Harris in dialogue on the Nature of Consciousness\, Its Impact on Our Emotions\, and Its Influence on Our Well-Being \nScience & Wisdom Live is hosting a special dialogue in collaboration with our North American FPMT partners\, including Shantideva Center in New York\, Land of Medicine Buddha\, Ocean of Compassion and Vajrapani Institute in California\, Lama Yeshe House in Denver\, Colorado and Lama Yeshe Ling in Burlington\, Canada. You can also find the contact details of the event partners here: \n\nLand of Medicine Buddha (SPC Liah): spc@medicinebuddha.org\nOcean of Compassion (SPC Bay): bay@oceanofcompassion.org\nShantideva Center (SPC Sheila): sheila@shantidevanyc.org\nVajrapani (SPC Cristian): cristian@vajrapani.org\nLama Yeshe House Study Group (Coordinator Justin): info@lamayeshehouse.org\nLama Yeshe Ling (SPC Manoshi): spc@lamayesheling.org\n\nWhat is consciousness\, at its core? Is it a product of brain activity\, or a fundamental aspect of reality itself? In this thought-provoking evening\, author Annaka Harris—known for Conscious: A Brief Guide to the Fundamental Mystery of the Mind and her new release Lights On—joins Buddhist scholar Geshe Tenzin Namdak to unite scientific inquiry with contemplative wisdom. \nTogether they’ll explore how awareness shapes our emotions\, intelligence\, and sense of self. At the heart of their dialogue is a vital question: can a deeper understanding of consciousness help us manage disturbing emotions\, nurture well-being\, and open new pathways for human flourishing? \nThis event is offered exclusively online. \n\n6:00–7:30 pm London (GMT) / 1:00–2:30 pm New York (EST) / 10:00–11:30 am Los Angeles (PST) \n\nAbout the Speakers\n \nGeshe Tenzin Namdak first worked as an environmental researcher having graduated in hydrology from Van Hall Larenstein University\, The Netherlands. Currently\, he is the resident teacher at Jamyang Buddhist Centre\, London\, and a Part-time Tutor at the Department for Continuing Education at the University of Oxford where he delivers courses on Buddhist Mind Science in this dept. \n  \n \n  \nAnnaka Harris is the New York Times bestselling author of CONSCIOUS: A Brief Guide to the Fundamental Mystery of the Mind and writer and producer of the audio documentary series\, LIGHTS ON.
