About this Event
His Eminence Jhado Rinpoche will be hosted at Jamyang London. This long-awaited event is a collaboration between Land of Joy, Jamyang Leeds and Jamyang London. Over five days, Rinpoche will confer a series of precious teachings and initiations:

His Eminence Jhado Rinpoche
Former Abbot of Namgyal Monastery
Jhado Rinpoche, Tenzin Jungne, was born in 1954 to a nomadic family near Namtso Lake, some 220 kilometres north of Lhasa. At the age of three he was recognised and enthroned as the sixth incarnation of the abbot of Jhado Monastery. From 1992 to 1996 Rinpoche taught at Namgyal Monastery in Dharamsala, the personal monastery of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. In 1997 he was appointed its Abbot, serving in that role until 2004.
He is held to be one of the most highly esteemed Lamas in the Geluk lineage today, having received many oral transmissions and empowerments from His Holiness the Dalai Lama and his two main tutors, and from great teachers of other traditions – among them the Nyingma masters Trulshik Rinpoche and Chogye Trichen Rinpoche.

- Day 2, 13:00-17:00 BST: Kalacakra Initiation from Vajravali.
Cittamani Tara Initiation
With Reading Transmissions of Associated Texts.

Lama Chopa Commentary
With the Lama Tsongkhapa Three Deities Jenang and Medicine Buddha Jenang. Days 4 & 5, Sat 12 & Sun 13 September, 10:00-17:00 BST
- Day 4, 10:00-12:30 BST: Jenang (subsequent permission) of The Combined Practice of the Three Families by Relying on Je Tsongkhapa, and transmission of The Hundred Deities of the Land of Joy (Ganden Lhagyama).
- Day 4, 14:00-17:00 BST: Lama Chopa (Guru Puja) commentary.
- Day 5, 10:00-12:30 BST: Jenang (subsequent permission) of Medicine Buddha and an explanation / reading transmission of the abbreviated puja by Panchen Lozang Chokyi Gyaltsen.
- Day 5, 14:00-17:00 BST: Guru Puja commentary.
Preparatory Session with Geshe Tenzin Namdak
Geshe Tenzin Namdak will give a preparatory online talk at 18:30 on 16th July for those who are taking, or are considering taking, teachings or empowerments from His Eminence Jhado Rinpoche at Jamyang in September. Register here.
Prerequisites for Attendance
Attending the initiations and jenangs is best suited for those who have a good understanding of the Lam Rim and the Three Principal Aspects of the Path. Attendees of the Cittamani Tara initiation and the Lama Chopa commentary must have already received a Highest Yoga Tantra initiation (such as the Kalachakra initiation that will take place prior).
Attending the initiations and jenangs means receiving the corresponding commitments – it is not possible to attend them as a blessing.
Commitments
The Kalachakra initiation and the Cittamani Tara initiation come with the normal commitments of refuge, bodhisattva vows and tantric vows, as well as the twice-daily Six Session Guru Yoga sadhana commitment. In addition to those, the Cittamani Tara initiation comes with a daily commitment to recite the Cittamani Tara Guru Yoga sadhana.
The Lama Chopa commentary does not have a daily recitation commitment, as Rinpoche will not be giving an experiential commentary. The Lama Tsongkhapa jenang and the Medicine Buddha jenang are given with the Bodhisattva vows.
Please note: these commitments may change, and Rinpoche may choose to give additional commitments when giving the initiations.

If you would like to attend the sutra teachings on a day when there is also an initiation, it is your responsibility to leave before the initiation is given.
Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships of various sizes are available for those who require financial assistance to attend the teachings. In order to allow as many people as possible the opportunity to attend, please only consider the scholarship option if the ticket options above are absolutely not viable for you. Apply for a scholarship.
Overspill Rooms
The gompa holds 70 people. To welcome everyone who wishes to attend, we will open further rooms across the building during the teachings. The first 70 places for each block are in the main temple, offered in the order they are booked. Places beyond the first 70, up to a total of 200, are in connected rooms across the building (the Tara room, library, and reception), where the teachings and initiations will be screened.
