In 1995, Jamyang found its home in the historic Old Courthouse in Kennington. What was once a place of punishment and reform has, over three decades, been remade into a place of peace, compassion, growth and transformation.

This November, we invite you to join us in celebrating 30 years at the Old Courthouse – a day of joy, connection, and community spirit.

From our humble beginnings in the 1970s – gatherings in front rooms, houses, and even squats – to securing the courthouse in South London, Jamyang’s story has always been about people coming together to share the Buddhadharma and to build community. Today, the courthouse is a thriving centre for study and practice, and a place of welcome for people from all walks of life.

For this special occasion, we’ll be gathering students and friends from across the five decades of Jamyang’s story – including our sister communities at Jamyang Leeds and Land of Joy – to honour the past, celebrate the present, and look with joy to the future.
