We’re thrilled to welcome Professor Robert A. F. Thurman to Jamyang on Friday 7 November at 6.30pm for an evening lecture and live Q&A.
Speaking on the topic of The Great 14th Dalai Lama as Guru Mahāvajradhara, the occasion is an historic one for our community. This will be the very first time Professor Thurman—renowned author, pioneering translator of Buddhist texts, and the first Westerner ordained as a Tibetan Buddhist monk by His Holiness the Dalai Lama—will be giving a dialogue at Jamyang.
About the Speaker
A leading voice in bringing Tibetan wisdom to the West, he is co-founder of Tibet House US and the Menla Healing Center, and holds the Jey Tsong Khapa Chair of Indo-Tibetan Buddhist Studies at Columbia University. This is an extraordinarily rare opportunity to engage directly with one of the most influential scholars of Buddhism of our time.
