A rare opportunity to receive Vajrayana teachings in London
Ven. Yangten Tulku Rinpoche (Lobsang Tenpai Gyaltsen) is a highly respected Gelug lineage teacher, recognised as a reincarnate lama at the age of 10 and a close disciple of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. After completing his Geshe Lharampa degree at Sera Mey Monastery and advanced tantric studies at Gyuto Tantric College, Rinpoche has served His Holiness directly at Dharamsala for many years, while also teaching internationally.
This visit is a special opportunity to connect directly with Rinpoche and to receive a Vajrayana initiation — potentially the first for many students of Jamyang .
Prerequisites and Commitments
Venerable Yangten Rinpoche has kindly advised that students make every effort to attend the initiation in person. At the same time, understanding that Jamyang has a global community, he has generously agreed for the initiation to be offered online.
Rinpoche recommends that those taking part should already have at least one or two years of solid Dharma study, so they can fully benefit from the empowerment.
This is a Highest Yoga Tantra empowerment and the commitments given will be the daily Six-Session Guru Yoga practice and a short daily Yamantaka sadhana—precious tools to deepen practice and safeguard samaya. Students should also be aware that receiving the initiation creates a teacher–student relationship with Yangten Rinpoche, which is considered a profound and positive step on the path.
These guidelines are not meant to encourage nor discourage anyone from receiving the empowerment, but rather to honour the integrity of the practice and the kindness of the teacher in making the empowerment available, and empowering you to make an informed choice.

About the Initiation
The empowerment being conferred is the Solitary Hero Yamantaka Initiation, one of the most profound practices in the Gelug tradition.
Yamantaka, the wrathful aspect of Manjushri, is especially associated with clearing obstacles and dispelling hindrances to Dharma practice. For this reason, it is often taken as a first Vajrayana initiation, creating a powerful foundation for deepening one’s study and practice.
Receiving this blessing under the guidance of Yangten Rinpoche is a rare and precious opportunity for students beginning their tantric path.
