Sutra Recitation for Chökhor Düchen
Chökhor Düchen marks the anniversary of Shakyamuni Buddha’s first teaching. As a merit multiplying day, the karmic results of actions done on this day are multiplied 100 million times. This amazing result is taught in the vinaya text Treasure of Quotations and Logic.
This special day on the Buddhist calendar is a perfect opportunity to practice virtue and accumulate merit! Join us to do exactly that as we recite scriptures to mark the auspicious occasion, including the Heart Sutra, and Chanting the Names of Manjushri (as advised by His Holiness the Dalai Lama to remove obstacles for the swift and unmistaken identification of the reincarnation of Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche).
