Peace, Harmony & Healing | with Paula Chichester

March is International Women’s Month at Jamyang! An opportunity to spotlight some of the incredible female teachers in our rich tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. Join Paula Chichester as she speaks about the healing power our practice can have for ourselves and the world around us.
Spiritual Practice for the Natural World
There are many spiritual practices that help us to feel a deeper sense of connection with the natural world, but to what extent can our actions truly make a difference to the world around us?
Some of the great masters of the past like Milarepa and Saint Francis of Assisi were well known for their affinity with animals and the natural world. Buddhism in general – and Tibetan Buddhism in particular – is rich with rituals and practices that seek to assist animals and spirits, either as acts of charity or supplication, or simply through the power of our positive intention. We do not need to be a great master to take part in these practices, we can learn them now and start to develop the confidence that we alone can make a difference.
Join Paula for what promises to be an inspiring and thought provoking evening exploring this topic in more depth.
About the Teacher
Paula Chichester is known for her friendly, experiential teaching style that evolved from 4 decades of full-time training in Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and meditation as well as diverse psycho-somatic healing arts from Asia and the West. Her ability to distil and impart the essence of these disciplines is inspired by her main teachers, Lama Thubten Yeshe and Kyabje Zopa Rinpoche. Paula is dedicated to help create a world culture of health, compassion, wisdom and joy.
How to Join?
The teaching will take place at Jamyang with the option to join remotely over zoom. Please select the relevant option when registering below.
Donation
Jamyang operates on a generosity model. Please select the donation option that is most suitable for your situation.
Jamyang is a non-profit charitable organisation that relies on the kindness of our donors, including students and community members. The donations, or Dana, given when registering for events and teachings support the Centre’s operations, allowing us to deliver our activities. If you’re able to give a little more, that’s wonderful; if a little less, that’s fine too. These donations help with essentials like feeding residential volunteers, housing our monastics, and keeping our doors open. However, we wish to emphasise that the Dharma is always offered freely and no-one is ever excluded because of their financial status, please do not hesitate to request a reduced rate.
For Monastics
We would like to offer this teaching to ordained sangha members free of charge. If you are ordained sangha please register here.
