Long Life Prayers for His Holiness the Dalai Lama

Join us as we celebrate His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 91st birthday! To honour the occasion we will be gathering to recite prayers for His long life and good health and for all his enlightened wishes to come to fruition.

The XIVth Dalai Lama is revered as the emanation of Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of compassion, and the embodiment of compassion itself. When we make prayers for the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama we are creating the causes for the Buddha of compassion to remain in this world for as long as possible and for us as individuals to meet with the Buddha of compassion in the future.

By coming together as a community to engage in this practice we are participating in a profound and interconnected relationship between teacher and student in which the conditions giving rise to our spiritual development are dependent upon the teacher, and the teacher’s vast activities can only manifest in dependence upon our aspirations and prayers.
