Today’s meditation took in the combined seven cause and effect and exchanging self for others method, so is as close to the homework as I could find in 30-minute form.
Afternoon Express Meditation: Tong Len – Ven Thubten Dechen
We will all be busy for the next two weeks, and I will be away without internet access, but if others want to keep the sessions going during that time, please do so.
See you next month.
Diana PisaniParticipantLast Tuesday, we repeated the Equalizing and Exchanging Self for Others meditation (link in post above).
I haven’t been able to find a half hour meditation matching the homework (Combined Seven Cause & Effect Method and Exchanging Self for Others). This morning, we followed this meditation, which has a part about Equanimity and Equalizing Self with Others, Nine-Round Breathing, and some self-Tonglen.
Diana PisaniParticipantThis week, we repeated a Ven. Yonten meditation:
8_Refuge and Bodhichitta_Day 3 Session 2 end _Meditation on Equalizing & Exchanging Self for Others
Have a good week!
Diana PisaniParticipantThis morning’s meditation was:
Lamrim Meditation #7: Generating Bodhicitta – Ven. Tenzing Namjong – we started at about 07:20.
This meditation goes through taking refuge, the Seven Limb Prayer and the Foundation of All Good Qualities, with a pause during the latter to for you to contemplate the Seven Causes & Effect. If you want a meditation that goes through the individual causes and effect in detail, then the Ven. Yonten one a few posts above is more along those lines.
Have a lovely day.
Diana PisaniParticipantThis morning, we followed the first half of:
Main Meditation 1: The 8 Worldly Concerns: With Awareness of Karma and Using Mahayana Mind Training – Ven. Yonten.
(from 00:00 to 35:06)All the best!
Diana PisaniParticipantToday’s meditation focussed on Tonglen – perhaps a little bit off from the meditation homework schedule but building on what we have been doing.
Guided Meditation – Exchanging Yourself for Others – Scott Snibbe (Skeptic’s Path to Enlightenment)
Have a good week.
Diana PisaniParticipantThis morning’s meditation:
8_Refuge and Bodhichitta_Day 3 Session 2 end _Meditation on Equalizing & Exchanging Self for Others – Ven. Yonten.
Have a great day!
Diana PisaniParticipantThis morning’s meditation was:
Meditation on The Seven-Fold Cause and Effect Instruction for Developing Bodhichitta – Ven. Yonten.
To fit it into the half hour, we started at 02:00.
Diana PisaniParticipantThis morning’s meditation:
Express Meditation (Equanimity) Led by Ven. Katy Cole
Have a happy and peaceful day, this Saka Dawa.
Diana PisaniParticipantJust a short one this morning, as we had a few things to talk about:
Equanimity Meditation: Stranger-Friend-Enemy – Ven. Yonten.
Diana PisaniParticipantI e-mailed Nalanda – my request had just got mislaid. All set now, so I’ll see everyone in the South of France.
Diana PisaniParticipantThis morning’s meditation:
Breathing Meditation 02 – Miffi Maxmilion.
A different version of nine-round breathing.Have a good week. For those in the UK, enjoy the holiday weekend!
Diana PisaniParticipantThis morning, we went back to compassion and loving kindness:
Simple Morning Meditation: Body Awareness, Breath and Gentle Tong-Len – Ven. Yonten.
Diana PisaniParticipantThey are setting up a dormitory tent in the grounds for female students. Or we can request a pitch for our own tents. Some people have had their confirmations for those already.
Anyway, we’ll see. If it doesn’t pan out, at least I’ll be online.
Diana PisaniParticipantThanks Radek. I don’t mind staying overnight in Toulouse on the way there, but I will probably need to get a ride to Lavaur at the end of the retreat.
Can I ask how long you waited for confirmation of accommodation from Nalanda? (I’m not complaining – it’s just that I know some people had places confirmed over a month ago, so I’m wondering whether I’ve missed out.)
