Nyung Nay is a Buddhist practice that belongs to the Kriya (Action) class of tantra, related to the Buddha of Compassion, Chenrezig. Being an action Tantra, emphasis is placed on ritual, and a distinctive component of the practice is a food and water fast. The purpose of the practice is to purify negative karma and accumulate merit, ultimately for the sake of attaining enlightenment.
Is this for me?
The main prerequisite for participation in this retreat is having taken Refuge. Additionally, retreatants would benefit from having a good familiarity with the Nalanda Buddhist tradition, specifically the topics of Lam Rim. It is important to note that due the fasting element and the need to keep silence, this is an intensive practice that is not appropriate for beginners.
Schedule
- Arrival at centre: 18:00
- Departure: 07:30
