The Root of the Path: Guru Devotion with Venerable Robina
September 5, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
About this Teaching
To navigate the ocean of suffering samsara and arrive at the shore of Buddhahood for the benefit of all beings, we need to depend on a captain, a guide who knows the way and can lead us there safely. For that reason, the Buddha taught us the importance of cultivating a healthy relationship with our spiritual teacher, also known as the virtuous friend. Lama Tsongkhapa identified correct reliance on the virtuous friend as the root of the path to enlightenment, the foundation upon which rests the success of all our practice.
Venerable Robina’s practical approach will help us dispel confusion and misunderstanding around guru devotion, as well as open our hearts to the myriad benefits that come from engaging with its practice.
Is this for me?
In attending these teachings, students will likely benefit from being familiar with basic Buddhist concepts, such as the Four Noble Truths and Karma. However, all with an open mind are welcome!
