An oasis of peace in London
Our community garden is an oasis of relaxation, it was inaugurated by the Dalai Lama in 1999 and has since been awarded the best “Sacred Space” in London.
The beautifully secluded and peaceful community garden at Jamyang Buddhist Centre London provides an enclave of peace, connection to nature in the city and a place for the community to gather and enjoy the Courtyard Café.
The urban garden is a free-to-enter neighbourhood garden, it is surrounded by wildlife-friendly trees and plants, hosts a reclining Buddha statue made by Nick Durnan, with the eyes painted by Lama Zopa Rinpoche, -read more about the Buddha’s statue here- an old Victorian cast iron safe now turned into a refuge for aquatic wildlife.
The Courtyard Cafe hosts regular events in the Community garden, check out the Cafe page to learn more.
