Bodhicitta: Entering the Mahayana with Venerable Robina
September 4 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
About this Teaching
The qualities of a person who has generated the mind of Enlightenment, or Bodhicitta, are almost unbelievable. While we are still in the grip of strong desire and anger, the idea of spontaneously having the needs of others at the forefront of our minds, day and night, seems remote and even unattainable. And yet, that is the task of the Mahayana practitioner. Having thoroughly renounced the suffering and dissatisfaction of samsara, we gradually – and courageously – orient our mind towards the goal of Enlightenment, for the sole purpose of bringing all other beings to that state.
Join Venerable Robina as she explains how this amazing process unfolds through sustained ethical conduct and meditation.
Is this for me?
In attending these teachings, students will likely benefit from being familiar with basic Buddhist concepts, such as the Four Noble Truths and Karma. However, all with an open mind are welcome!
