About the LGBTQ Buddhist Gathering
Join us at Jamyang Buddhist Centre London for an afternoon of engaging conversation on the topic of Joy. We will discuss intergenerational joy in Queer and spiritual communities, and contemplative types of joy, generated through practice.
Our in-person gatherings for the Rainbow Sangha are a dedicated space for Queer identified or LGBTQ+ identified people who are studying Buddhism or are practicing Buddhists, and interested in sharing experiences with others as part of our affinity group at Jamyang.
This space seeks to affirm and uplift LGBTQ+ members of our community, where people can see themselves reflected in the stories of their fellow students and practitioners, while unpacking the nuances of their lived experience in a conducive and supportive setting.
What can I expect?
The LGBTQ London Buddhist meeting will include a guided meditation and informal discussion hosted by our EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion) Co-ordinator Kunsang Kelden and Buddhist translator and meditation instructor Michael Lobsang Tenpa
Light refreshments will be provided.

About Michael Lobsang Tenpa
Michael Lobsang Tenpa is a Tibetan Buddhist translator, meditation instructor, Cultivating Emotional Balance (CEB) teacher and student of EcoDharma. Born in Siberia, he earned BA and MA degrees in South Asian studies, worked in social media and eventually received ordination in Nepal, spending nine years as a Tibetan Buddhist monastic before switching to the path of a lay teacher/practitioner. In addition to years of Buddhist studies and translator work (including translating and interpreting for His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Lama Zopa Rinpoche and other masters), he also trained as a secular ethics and mindfulness instructor in the Netherlands, the UK and the US.
