About this celebration
During his teachings, our Resident Teacher, Geshe Tenzin Namdak, has occasionally mentioned the remarks of His Holiness the Dalai Lama about Lama Tsongkhapa: that if you look at the amount that he taught, it looks as if he was teaching all of the time; if you look at the amount of texts that he composed, it looks like he was composing all of the time; and if you look at the amount that he practiced, it looks like he was practicing all of the time. Not only that, but Geshe Namdak has emphasised that Lama Tsongkhapa went to great lengths to elucidate the most difficult points of the Buddhist doctrine. These are a few reminders of the extent of the Lama Tsongkhapa’s vast activities. Today, his teachings continue to flourish in centres, monasteries and nunneries around the world, including here at Jamyang, and countless practitioners have gained realisations of the stages of the path in dependence upon them.

We mark the occasion of Lama Tsongkhapa’s parinirvana with an online practice of Ganden Lha Gyama (The Hundred Deities of Tushita). We will follow this with a recitation of Manjushrinamasamgiti (Chanting the Names of Manjushri), in accordance with the advice of His Holiness the Dalai Lama for the swift return of the incarnation of Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche.

The practice will be guided by our Spiritual Program Coordinator, Venerable Losang Wangyel.
