Online Summer Lam Rim Retreat 2023
July 29 @ 6:00 pm - August 7 @ 12:00 pm
About this retreat
Jamyang Buddhist Centre London is currently midway through its current cycle of Basic Programme, an in-depth study programme on Buddhist philosophy and practice that has been designed by FPMT.
In addition to the course’s standard subject blocks, our Resident Teacher, Geshe Namdak leads a yearly Summer Lam Rim Retreat, giving students the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the stages of the Path to Enlightenment. This retreat will also be open to non-Basic Programme students online via Zoom.
PLEASE NOTE: Enrolled Basic Programme students should not register here. If you are a Basic Programme student, you will receive separate registration instructions. If you are a Discovering Buddhism student or an Exploring Buddhism student who would like to attend the retreat in-person, please do not register here. We will send you separate instructions.
Prerequisites (Is this for me?)
It will be assumed that as a minimum participating students will have some familiarity with the Lam Rim literature and the corresponding topics, for example, by having completed the Discovering Buddhism course.
Retreat starts in the evening on 29th July & ends 7th August at lunchtime. Daily schedule of sessions will be shared in the coming weeks.
Recordings for this retreat will be available so you can catch up if you miss a session.
About Geshe Namdak
Geshe Tenzin Namdak first worked as an environmental researcher having graduated in hydrology from Van Hall Larenstein University, The Netherlands. He started studying Buddhism at Maitreya Institute in 1993 and took ordination from His Holiness the Dalai Lama before engaging in his formal studies in Buddhist philosophy and psychology at Sera Jey Monastic University, South India, in 1997. Currently, he is the resident teacher at Jamyang Buddhist Centre, London, and teaches worldwide. Because of his deep interest and background in science and as a member of Sera Jey’s Education Department he spoke on and organized various dialogues and conferences on contemporary science and ancient Buddhist contemplative wisdom of the mind and its philosophy.
