About this teaching
‘The Sealed Bodhicitta Instruction’ is a meditation practice that combines various elements, including the Seven Instructions of Cause and Effect Method and Tong-len, to generate a superior mind of Bodhicitta. The transmission of this practice lineage is quite rare, because the teacher that gives the explanation-transmission has the commitment to do the practice everyday. That, combined with the fact that this teaching and transmission will be given by Lama Dagpo Rinpoche, known as the ‘Lord of the Lam Rim’, makes this an unbelievably precious opportunity. We are honoured that Rinpoche has offered to teach the Jamyang London students.

Is this for me?
If you decide to receive these teachings and actual take the transmission from Rinpoche, you take him as one of your teachers. Only those who have checked the teacher and are confident about taking that step should attend. Furthermore, students should have a foundation of understanding the teachings of the Lam Rim.

Schedule
Saturday 16 December 14:15 – 16:15
Sunday 17 December 09:00 – 11:00

About the teacher Lama Dagpo Rinpoche

Lama Tsongkhapa gave Je Lotroe Tenpa, the founder of Dagpo Dratsang, the responsibility of upholding his Lam Rim teachings. Emanations of Rinpoche’s incarnation line have been the custodians of the Lam Rim like his predecessor Dagpo Lama Jamphel Lhundrub, the main Lam Rim teacher of Kyabje Pabongkha Rinpoche. Before that however, Rinpoche’s previous incarnations include such enlightened beings as Lama Serlingpa, the mind training teacher of the Great Athisa, Always-Weeping Bodhisattva, Gunaprabha, and Marpa Lotsawa.

At the age of one Rinpoche was recognized by His Holiness the Thirteenth Dalai Lama as the incarnation of Dagpo Lama Jamphel Lhundrub. After his studies in Tibet in 1959 Dagpo Rinpoche fled to India. Less than a year later he was invited to France to assist French Tibetologists in their scientific research. At the advice of His Holiness the Fourteenth Dalai Lama Rinpoche accepted the request. From 1961 until his retirement in 1993 Rinpoche taught Tibetan language and civilisation and Buddhism at the School of Oriental Studies, a part of the Sorbonne.

At the request of his students Rinpoche founded a Dharma centre in France in 1978, which became Ganden Ling Institute in 1995. Since the late seventies Rinpoche has shared his vast knowledge of Buddhism with a wide public. On their request he teaches in various European countries, in Asia and in the United States. He has founded additional Dharma centres in the South of France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Malaysia, Indonesia, and India. Up until now, he has travelled to India almost yearly to maintain contact with his teachers, such as His Holiness the Dalai Lamaand monasteries. In 2005 Dagpo Rinpoche completed a long-term project, the reconstruction and transfer of the Dagpo Shedrup Ling monastery to the Kullu valley in Northwest India.
